What the health TVA version 1

So this is my first stab at a post that is more about health and wellness. I’ve been changing up my diet and also working out a lot more and wanted to share that with Y’all. I see a lot of people trying to find different I’ve been feeling so crappy still because of allergies and was going to do a mini blog post on IG. But I started typing the words started to come to me and now I got the motivation to type out a full-on blog post. So here we go!

Changes to your diet

I started off the new year with Whole30 in January. It’s very challenging but very rewarding! I’m so glad I did it and I’m sticking to that diet for the most part…although I have had P. Terrys a few times since then. The main reason why I wanted to do this was that I gained about 12 pounds or so from the birth control I was on at that time (switched to a different BC after nearly having an emotional breakdown at my yearly checkup last year lol). I noticed my body changing towards the end of the summer and I was not feeling very good about myself. And the fact that none of my pants fit made me feel any better about anything. In January I wanted to hit the reset button on my diet and change how I felt about myself physically.

I usually do a cleanse every 3-4 months just to keep myself in check…and I always sooo much better afterward. One of my favorites is the herbal cleanse from Advocare. Of course, everyone’s bodies are different so this is no way a one formula fits all type of solution. Also, I’m no fitness expert or dietician lol This is just what I’ve done to kickstart a little bit weight loss to get back to my normal weight and maintain it. But you have to do what’s best for you!

A few tips to get started:What the health TVA version

1) Every morning I drink 2 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar(make sure it comes with the Mother!! Braggs and Heinz are great brands) + 8oz of water + a splash of fresh lemon juice. I mix that together and drink it quickly through a straw. The lemon juice definitely helps with the taste and the results happen pretty quickly.

2) If you have cravings at night or throughout the day,  drink hot peppermint tea, it’ll kill those cravings. You can even add a little honey for sweetness…unless you’re on whole30 lol

3) Try and drink at least 3 liters of water a day!!!

Anyway, I recently made friends at work and got the hook up at the gym there and all of a sudden I’m working out 4-5 times a week. It’s so much more motivating to go to the gym when you have friends to go and work out with you. Plus, they hold you accountable when you don’t want to go and still force you to go…and when you skip a bunch of days they will call you out about it. I like more of the full body exercises, so my go-to for workout inspo is Emily Skye fit and Kayla Itsines. To top it off most of these exercises can be done in 30 minutes! Which is the ultimate goal for me. 🙂

If that is still too much for you, take it slow! Start out with walking on the treadmill at a brisk walk. Set the speed to 3.2-3.4 mph and set the incline at 1 for 30 minutes. Do these 3-4 days a week just to get started. Also, the weather is supposed to get a lot nicer here in Texas so if you like to be outside, go for a 30-minute walk outside. However, you want to start it is up to you. Don’t get overwhelmed though! Whether it has to with changes in your diet or getting back into the gym, break down your goals into achievable steps. You will be so much more motivated!

The main point of this is to motivate you to create a healthy lifestyle for yourself and find what works for you. I hope this was informative for you all.
