I can’t hold out any longer and I’m going to talk about spring style on the blog today. Currently, it is 38F and drizzling, but there are some pretty good picks you can incorporate into your winter wardrobe until it gets warmer. For those who live in warmer climates right now, you basically have nothing to worry about and can order all of this today. For those of you who follow me on Instagram, I recently went to Zara to kill some time and of course see what they had new.
The spring collection is soooooo good! I wanted almost everything I tried on. From that little shopping trip (I call it research lol) I wanted to give you the lowdown on why you should go out and get these items right now for spring. And no I am not being paid to write this (although that would be legit….Zara whats good?!), I just have an unhealthy obsession with Zara. So let me know if this is helpful at all for you!
Tops
Corset Slogan T-Shirt – Yes I love a good graphic tee. It is perfect for layering under cardigans, blazers, and jackets. It adds a fun touch to your outfit! This one is a bit different because it has the corset structure to it. I’m not sure if layer corsets over tops are still a thing. If you got one, make it happen.
Diagonal Knit Sweater – I know it’s another sweater…BUT it is another soft sweater with really pretty neutral color options. I tried on the mustard yellow sweater with the mom jeans and platform shoes…how easy and comfortable is that outfit!
Frayed Tweed Top– I probably sneezed 100 times after putting this top on because the lint is unreal. Once I got past that it’s pretty cute and I like the frayed detail.
Animal Print Blouse– Zara says its a blouse but if you go up a size I think you could get away with it being a cute mini dress. I paired this with the pointed toe ankle boots and the combat boots, and this look was on point. This will be a great outfit meeting the girls for happy hour.
Bottoms
Hi-Rise Mom Jeans–First of all, I really want to do an entire post on mom jeans. I know for some it could possibly not give you the right look, but sometimes it’s nice to go for a more relaxed look than the super tight skinny jeans. I like the mom jeans style because it’s more relaxed in the hips/butt area, but the waist comes back in. it’s not just relaxed fit all over like the boyfriend style, and that just looks baggy on my frame. However to each their own! I’m loving the mom jeans and Zara had an array of colors in this model.
Tri-Colored Pleated Skirt– This skirt is about midi length and I would say that you could wear this all year round. I personally like some pattern and texture to pop up in my wardrobe every once and a while. I can see this being worn with a sweater, denim button down, even crop tops.
Shoes
Does anyone need an actual explanation of why they should get new shoes? The ones listed below are great and amazing and will elevate your wardrobe.
Leather Combat Boots with Pearls – If you don’t want to wear heels with that dress, make the outfit a little edgy with the combat boots. I was getting Danielle Bernstein(IG:@weworewhat) vibes from that combo. She calls it the high low combination wearing a midi/maxi dress with combat boots. A huge plus is that you’ll be comfortable all day. 🙂
Platform Finish Derby Shoe– Another shoe for those of us who like to be comfortable(which is everyone) I’m glad the platform style shoes are still in. These have an overall neutral look to them but has a pop of color on the sole. If you already have 100 pairs of all black shoes then this is good for you because you still get your black but with some understated color.
Lace-up High Heel Ankle Boots– Honestly I was intimidated by how pointed these shoes are, but when I tried them on, my perspective definitely changed. I like that you can adjust the laces so if you are wearing thick tights or maybe those little ankle socks it is very accommodating. 2018 is about spicing up your life so let’s get the super pointy toe heel!
What do yall think?! I guess you could call this a mini-review of the new spring collections coming out. If you want me to review another collection, let me know!
