Hello and welcome back to The Visual Aspect! It’s been a hot minute since I last created a post, but I am back with a good one! This blog post is to highlight local Austin fashion boutiques that need our support. Due to recent events, I feel like we’re all trying our best to adjust to a new normal of what is happening. I have been thinking of different ways I can help support others using my platform. Since my platform is fashion related, I have created a roundup of the top local fashion boutiques in Austin. I do this in the hope to show support and bring awareness to you all in hopes you can support them in any way you can.
It was a fast domino effect of change since the beginning of the month due to the virus. Many restaurants, small businesses, bars, you name it; have been suffering from the outbreak of the virus. All starting off with the cancellation of SXSW to now everyone staying indoors and hopefully adhering to the shelter in place guidelines.
A lot of businesses have had to drastically pivot in how they serve their customers. Learning to utilize different applications and online services so that the business can continue to run. I can’t imagine the stress around that and trying to find solutions quickly. I love watching the Austin community show up for these businesses. Specifically, I absolutely love seeing the Austin influencer/blogger community showing up and supporting as well! I sure hope other bloggers are doing this within their communities. Regardless, what I’ve been seeing lately has me very proud that I live in this amazing city.
Here’s how you can support local shops
My platform speaks to the fashion and style industry so I compiled a round-up of the top local Austin boutiques that you should support during this time and beyond! Many of these businesses/boutiques are online and have free shipping so you don’t even need to leave your bed or the comfort of your home. For some boutiques, they are providing curbside pick up.
There are two things you can do to support the local boutiques. First off if you are not in the position to financially support these boutiques don’t feel the pressure. What you can do instead is pass this post along to someone you know who can. Getting that awareness out to more people is important as well. Second is purchasing the product! Yes, there are many sales happening with all the big retailers. However, if you can put your dollars towards these brands, the impact is so much greater. Most of the boutiques are online or you can call in your order and just about all the shops are having some specials right now. Check out the list below!
