Style Statements For Work

Style Statements for Work
Gone are the days of the traditional pantsuit (or the skirt suit) being a requirement to wear to work …at least for the most part. What we wear in the workplace has changed drastically especially in the tech/Startup heavy cities like Austin, Texas. It is also that time of the year where summer internships are starting, you are starting your first JOB out of school, or maybe you just want to freshen up your work wear. Today I’m going to show you some options for various workplaces.

Sleek and professional
Honestly, I haven’t worn a suit or anything close to business professional outfit, because none of my internships or full-time jobs required that of me. Currently, I work at Dell and I do workplace design. I have a lot of freedom in what I can wear but I still aim to look nice and presentable regardless. But I have had to shop for business casual separates and one of my favorite places to get them is Express and Banana Republic. Express has so many options that you can mix and match with. Both Express and Banana Republic has a variation in the cut of the pant legs.

Redefining the pantsuit
Here would be my twist on the whole pantsuit idea because I like to express myself at some point. So if you are in a work environment that is more relaxed you check out this outfit from New Look! You can easily wear this with a pair of black pumps or I like it with the white trainers idea. A found several super cute suit sets below and they can be worn as separates as well. Take a look below!

When a casual day at the office is every day
So you have complete freedom to wear what you want to work. As much as going to work in PJ’s sound nice, you do want to look nice and put together. That is what I try and achieve every morning before work butttt sometimes I just throw something on and hope it all goes together.

Blazers are a HUGE staple here! You can there some that are fitted and comes down right to your waist or you can go with the oversized look….although this is oversized you can still have it fit you to an extent so that it doesn’t look frumpy. In this photo, Laura is wearing a more oversized jacket but it still fits her in the shoulders. So you can get a little creative outside the traditional style. 🙂

I hope this can give you a jumpstart and that you are getting some great ideas for your wardrobe for the workplace! Thank you so much for reading:) If there is ever a topic you would want me to write about, let me know by commenting below!
