Okay let’s just go ahead and get it out there. You CAN wear white after Labor Day! There I said it and don’t @ me haha I honestly don’t know where these rules come from, but I truly think it’s a U.S. thing creating rules like that. Anyway, today I am going to talk about how to wear white this winter. I feel like white can be an intimidating color to wear at times, but I am going to share how you can wear white with confidence!
Textures & Patterns
Wearing white can be a little intimidating. I feel like it can be the opposite of wearing black and not be very flattering. Especially pants…like why can I see completely through the white jeans! I wasn’t going to start this off not acknowledging that part, but here are some solutions to this. When it comes to pants specifically, the cheaper the pant the more see thru it will be. I found that mid-range brands like Gap, Madewell, and even Frame will get you a little bit thicker material. Secondly, look for a texture in the fabric or a pattern. For example, corduroy, suede, velvet, and leather (and faux leather). Those fabrics will yield a little bit more of a thicker material and not be see through.
Off white & Cream
You don’t have to wear a stark white color! An off white or cream will do and for me personally those colors look better on my skin tone. Example being the photos shown in this blog post:) This is just a personal take on winter white and I suggest that you try different shades and see if there is a color you prefer. It’s all about empowering you to be confident in your shade of white!
Mix & Match
The third way to wear white this winter is to mix and match. If you don’t want to wear white from head to toe, mix and match your outfit. Like what I am wearing the photos shown, I paired the ivory top, with my brown leather skirt, and an off-white corduroy blazer. Mixing and matching can create a sophisticated neutral outfit that is perfect for every day.
Dress it up & Dress it down…Literally
The easiest way to create an outfit is a dress! It can be a one stop shop and then all you will need to worry about is shoes and accessories. Sweater dresses, maxi, or midi dresses are some of my favorite styles to wear this time of year. Look for a dress that is versatile and easy to style, and it will become a go to in your wardrobe this season.
I hope these tips and tricks served you well:) You can wear white after Labor Day and don’t listen to the haters. Go out and slay in your next all white outfit ensemble!
Outfit Details
You are so right! White is a beautiful color and when worn correctly it is stunning. I love how you styled this outfit and those snakeskin booties just stole my heart.
