Hello and welcome back to The Visual Aspect blog. Today we are talking about shorts or the summer under $40. I have been on a journey with shorts this yea4r. There are many of the shorts that I owned were too small, too short, and too old. I feel like I go through a cycle every 2 years or so to freshen up my short’s selection in my wardrobe. Also, when I see stores like Zara and Express release a few new styles of shorts, I like to try them and if I like it, I add to my wardrobe.
Okay, Show me the short shorts!
What style of summer shorts are we shopping for?
The main thing I look for is when it comes to shorts is comfort. Comfort is key for me! It’s already super-hot outside and I don’t need my clothes to be sticking to me and riding up all over the place. Mom shorts style is the style I love the most! I always gravitate to this style because for those of us who have a larger butt and hips, mom shorts are way more relaxed in those areas and the fit is perfect.
I have never felt super comfortable in the super short shorts because my butt just hangs out and whenever I sit down, they just rid up into my soul. It hurts lol I do like the look of short shorts with some outfits especially like music festivals and SXSW events like that. But for day to day functional wardrobe wear, I like a nice relaxed fit short style that is comfy.
How to shop for budget-friendly summer shorts
My main goal is always to cycle out old pieces of clothing that need to be refreshed with something new while on a budget. A lot of the shorts that I will be suggesting in my round-up below are under $40. That’s the price range that I like to shop at because they aren’t too expensive or so cheap that they fall apart after one wash. And many of these stores and brands have a ton of sales throughout the season so you would get an even better discount without sacrificing the quality of the shorts.
So enough of me blabbing on about shorts for the summer and let’s get to the good stuff! I have listed out a couple of different styles of shorts below that would be great for the summer.
