Okay, I am back at it again with more wardrobe building, closet curating info! I hope you have enjoyed the past couple of weeks and have taken the first steps in cleaning and organizing your wardrobe. A question that I have been thinking about lately is what makes my wardrobe, MY wardrobe? What makes it uniquely my style and personality.
We will cover different parts of your everyday life and how you can find different parts of your wardrobe that possible overlaps. That makes shopping so much easier and efficient when you can say, “I could wear this top to work or casually on the weekends”.
Style Statements For Work
As I become older my style and wardrobe have changed and matured with me. This in part has to do with graduating from college and starting my big girl job in the corporate world. Luckily in my field of work, I can still have a lot of flexibility with what I want to wear to work. So workwear and what I wear outside of work overlap.
So from identifying those transitions in my lifestyle, shopping has been a little easier. Most of the pieces I am shopping for is for both on the clock at work and off work.
Are there some areas of your everyday life that overlap? Try and identify those areas and use it to your advantage when shopping.
Time For Some Fun
While my wardrobe is on its way to being perfectly tailored to my work life, there is some space for the fun and flirty pieces! What do you like to do for fun or leisure? If it is finding the latest brunch spot or going on a hike, having space for those pieces is a must. If you are starting to give your wardrobe a makeover make sure to grab a couple of pieces that would be perfect for a girls night out.
To create some balance within your wardrobe decide what is the area you need to show some love. For example, if you need to expand your options for your everyday style but love buying workout clothes create a 3:1 ratio. For every 3 pieces of clothing you buy specifically for casual wear, you can get 1 piece of workout wear. Do this for a couple months and watch how your wardrobe grows in those areas.

Dressed To The Nine’s
If you go to many events having several dressy options will be a huge priority. I don’t attend many events like this a year, but they do pop up every once in a while. For those
I gave a lot of examples of what I have going on in my wardrobe at the moment. However, this should be very much tailored to you. It will get you thinking about where there is overlap in your everyday life. During the week, on the weekend, and how I like to spend my free time. Secondly, what do I usually wear during those activities and how can I shop more efficiently.
