Interview Questions
1. Could you start by sharing a bit about yourself?
I started blogging about 6 years ago but it took me about 5 years of failing, researching, and soul searching before I was able to figure out exactly what I was doing. I thought if I was having all these problems then other bloggers must be experiencing the same thing so I started to talk about it and sure enough a ton of bloggers were going through the same thing which is how Not Another Blonde became what it is today.
Finally after putting it off for so long, I quit my job and moved to NYC about a year ago and really took blogging seriously. As cliché as it sounds I knew that if I didn’t pursue my dream now, I was never going to do it. And that’s where I am now, slowly building my empire while helping others to do the same.
In my free time I’m bossing my boyfriend around on Snapchat, consulting brands and bloggers, and contributing to Zanita Studio and The Wonder Forest. I truly believe that no idea is too big and it’s never too late to start doing what you love.
2. Could you tell us about your blog and what inspired you to start one?
I feel like I answered this already in question 1. ☺
3. Who is your fashion inspiration?
Annie Hall, even though she’s a fictional character, and the Olsen twins… of course.
4. How would you describe your style?
Androgynous, minimalistic, neutral, sophisticated.
5. What are your favorite stores to shop at, and why?
Zara, Forever 21, H&M, Topshop (for jeans), Missguided, Urban Outfitters… they’re all super affordable options with a lot of basics to choose from so you’re able to recycle the same pieces to form new outfits without anyone knowing you’re really wearing the same stuff over and over again.
6. What is an item you splurge on?
Bags. I will 100% splurge on a bag because I think they’re just timeless and get passed on from generation to generation.
7. What is your next fashion must have?
A Chanel bag. Every “fashion girl” needs one. I’m thinking a simple black with a silver chain…
8. How do you handle fashion trends? (Do you like to keep up with them or not pay attention to them at all…)
I definitely do like to keep up with them but try not to jump on the band wagon too soon because some trends are so fleeting and outrageous. I’m more on the practical, classic, play-it-safe side of fashion. I try to pick pieces that are timeless so I can wear them season after season. I’ve gotten a little more creative with my shoe choices though… I have a pair of these dusty rose with black pom-poms lace ups… they were so good I couldn’t resist!
9. Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
Start from the top and work your way down… pretty boring I know but it’s worked for me for all these years!
10. For my readers that are looking to freshen up their wardrobe, what is a great fashion tip you can share with them?
Keep your tops and jeans simple and accessorize with statement outerwear and shoes. This is especially great in the colder months because your jackets and shoes are all that people ever see!
